Vases / Pots collection proposes investing the surface of an ordinary archetypical object with a graphic intervention. In response to the over-creation of new shapes, Vases / Pots chooses to produce a pre-existing shape and create a collection of graphic surfaces that are to be considered as so many design acts. The first volume elected by Domestic is a cylindrical vase in painted white porcelain with a cover letting it be transformed into a vase for a single flower and into a container. The vase design is created by matali crasset, Antoine+Manuel, Laurent Fétis, Ich&Kar, Kuntzel+Deygas, Pierre Marie, Maison Georgette, Tado, Jeremyville, Trafik, among others.Archetypal quality and the interest of these plates is in the graphic work of a dozen designers and graphic artists. For the Plates collection Domestic have again chosen to produce a plate of pre-existing design and to solely consider the graphics applied to the surface, which in itself is naturally an act of design.
