Kontur is the new light fitting from German designer Sebastian Herckner in his first collaboration with Vibia. A simple yet elegant black frame accommodates the LED source that interacts with different types of luminous reflectors. Kontur brings together an essence and a quality of light explored through new lighting scenarios.
Working with different shades in both volume and form the character of each light fitting changes and offers multiple possibilities. A cylinder of hand blown opaline glass, a concave disk and a sheet lightly folded turn into pure volumes that emit a suggestive poetic light. Through an ongoing dialogue with the designer Vibia asked Herkner to place greater emphasis on an inclusive creativity that would allow an adaptation of a new light system to different situations but nevertheless with a unique individual identity. A collaborative process where the exchange of creativity and knowledge comes to fruition through the fusion of technology with a distinctive beauty. With its timeless aesthetic Kontur offers new resources to architects and interior designer to create lighting ambiences with a distinctive soul.
