50 years ago, Danish architect and designer Verner Panton created the ground-breaking interior design for the German publishing house Der Spiegel in Hamburg.‎ In collaboration with the Panton family, Offecct now has the privilege to re-edit the acoustic Spiegel Panel true to the original design.‎
In 1969 Verner Panton created the iconic interior of the German publishing house Der Spiegel in Hamburg.‎ Panton wanted to use all available surfaces in the building for the best possible working environment and developed a system with acoustic panels.‎
“The pyramid shape is ideal for absorbing sound, while creating an architectural marker in the room, for example in open office landscapes.‎ We are very happy and proud to have the opportunity to re-edit this ground-breaking design and give it a new life”, says Offecct's Brand Manager Maria Olofsson.‎
The project has been made possible through a collaboration with the Panton family.‎
The idea, shape and dimensions of the panels follow the original design, while the material and structure has been adapted to meet current rules and standards.‎ The Spiegel Panel is made of polyester fibre which is folded into shape, making it lightweight and easy to recycle, and it is available in the three original depths.‎
